The 18th ifva Awards
 
Seize the chance, ignite the flame of creativity!

This year we have Zcratch Production, a creative team founded by the awardees from the ifva Awards Animation Category, to design the key visuals for the 18th ifva to give a boost of the independent spirits! More designs and promotional videos are coming soon!

The 18th ifva Awards is now open for online submission! Entries are welcomed to any of the five categories, namely: Open Category, Youth CategoryAnimation Category, Interactive Media Category and Asian New Force Category. Details and Submission >>>



Art East Island 2012
  Hong Kong galleries, artists and non-profits have joined forces to show specially curated exhibitions and open artist’s studios during Art HK 12 in Hong Kong’s newest art’s district in industrial warehouse spaces, where Pure Art Foundation exhibited works by grant recipients  including ifva alumni -- Jessey TSANG, WONG Yu-hin, LAM Chi-fai, Winnie SOON and Helen PRITCHARD (Gold and Silver Awards winners of the 17th ifva Awards Interactive Media Category) from 17-20 / 5 / 2012. Zhejiang Art Museum
Animation Session(China)
  Hong Kong Arts Centre and the Zhejiang Art Museum are co-presenting the "Postgal Workshops Independent Animations Screening" in Hangzhou from 1-3 / 6 / 2012. It will showcase the works of the ifva Awards Animation Category Gold Award winner John CHAN including The Tired City, Mum is Born, Din Dong and Hidden Elders etc.

John CHAN and Pam HUNG, founders of Postgal Workshops, will present a seminar having a discussion session.

Xian Asian Film Festival 2012 (China)   The first edition of Xian Asian Film Festival will be held at Xi'an Art Gallery of Pacific Ocean Cinema in Qu Jiang, Xian from 14-17 / 6 / 2012.
 
Curated by ifva Director, Teresa KWONG, eight Gold and Silver awarded short films of the 17th ifva will be featured in the Festival, including Meeting of the Half Moons and 1+1 (Open Category), Within Within (Animation Category), Accident (Youth Category) and Land of the Heroes (Asian New Force Category) etc.
 
 


 
The International
Children’s Film
Carnival 2012
  Presented by Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the "World Animation & Shorts" are regular delights in the International Children’s Film Carnival. This year three short films from 17th ifva Awards — Oh! Give Me Strength and Origin (Animation Category finalist works) and Talk to Bear (Youth Category - Silver Award) will be showcasing in the Programme 1 & 2 of  this section. More >>>
