ifva Awards – Open Category: Jury Panel & Prizes

This year’s jurors for the Open Category include: Sylvia Chang, Nansun Shi, Vincent Tsui, Eric Poon and William Cheung.
The Gold Award winner will be presented with a HK$50,000 cash prize, a Blackmagic Cinema Camera and attending international film festivals under the sponsorship of “HONG KONG SHORT FILM: NEW ACTION EXPRESS” (NAE).

Past ifva Gold Award works screening

ifva and General Education Unit of the University of Hong Kong have selected 5 ifva Gold Award works for free public screening. 3 selected gold awarded animations will be shown on 18 September (Fri). Another screening featuring the 1st ifva Awards Grand Prize winner, A Tragedy Ahead by Cheng Chi-hung, and the 20th ifva Open Category Gold Award winner, 32 and 4 by Chan Hau-chun will take place on 25 September (Fri).

Calling for Participants – “Young Filmmakers 2015/16”

With the topic of IDENTITY, ifva is now calling school to join the video education project “Young Film Makers 2015/16”. The project aims to inspire teenagers to express themselves, share their powerful ideas and viewpoints through moving images. The series of workshop equips the young filmmakers with fundamental filmmaking skills as well as the knowledge and awareness on the topic Identity and its influence in the self and the society.

Calling for Participants - “All About Us”
A Creative filmmaking project for ethnic minorities youths


Instructors for the project comprise film industry professionals and video artists. Through fun challenges during two exciting camps and weeks of filming activities, ethnic minorities youths will learn from doing and discover how to tell story through moving images. The “All About Us 2015/16”is calling for participants.

August Event HighlightsThe 21st ifva Press Conference

The 20th ifva is officially launched with the jury panel this year and other creative producers attending the press conference. The launch event also announced the upcoming programme, prizes and jury for the ifva Awards and the brand new publicity visuals and trailers.
