【The 23rd ifva Awards】

Application and submission deadline: HKT 16th Oct 2017, 6:00pm

The 23rd ifva Awards includes five categories, namely Open, Youth, Animation, Media Art, and Asian New Force. We welcome entries of short films, animations and media art works from local and Asia countries. Let us introduce the jury lineup for the Open and Youth Categories.

This year’s jurors for the Open Category include Hong Kong Film Awards' Best Director, Fruit Chan; renowned writer, screenplay writer and director, Chan Hing-kai; Golden Scene Company Limited founder, Winnie Tsang; songwriter and producer, Adrian Chow and associate professor of Chinese Department, Lingnam University, Mary Wong.

The Gold Award winner will be presented with a HK$50,000 cash prize and attending international film festivals under the sponsorship of “HONG KONG SHORT FILM: NEW ACTION EXPRESS” (NAE). The Silver Award winner will be presented with a HK$30,000 cash prize.

This year’s jurors for the Youth Category include Hong Kong Film Awards' Best New Directors: The Way We Dance director, Adam Wong; Big Blue Lake director, Tsang Tsui-shan; Mad World director, Wong Chun; producer of Hong Kong Film Awards’ Best Picture Ten Years, Andrew Choi; professor of School of Journalism and Communication, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Anthony Fung and vocalist of RubberBand, Luk Ho.

The Gold Award winner will be presented with a HK$20,000 cash prize and attending international film festivals under the sponsorship of “HONG KONG SHORT FILM: NEW ACTION EXPRESS” (NAE). The Silver Award winner will be presented with a HK$10,000 cash prize.

【Nominate works to ifva Awards】

As a platform and an incubator for film and visual media, ifva hopes to see more creative power from Hong Kong and Asia. The 23rd ifva Awards is now open call for submissions and nominations. Academic staff, festival promoters, curators, industry people and all general member of public are invited to recommend short films, animations and media art works to ifva.
